Most women don’t know it, but heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States. KXII and TMC have teamed up for American Heart Month, in an effort to save lives.
Heart disease in women isn’t spotted the same way that it is in men. Often the symptoms are different, and written off to stress. Instead of chest pain, your jaw might hurt or you may have back or neck pain.
TMC and the Texoma Heart Group are offering screenings for women across the area from February 15th to the 18th. You can call 1-866-649-9412 to schedule a time at a location closest to you. All it takes is a few minutes of your time and $5 fee.
Doctors encourage all women to take part, but especially if they are around the age of menopause.
