Texoma Native-- Nashville Star

2-19-05- The road to Nashville has been a long one for Calera, Oklahoma native Jason Meadows, who now has the chance to live his dream as a finalist in a nationwide talent search.

Jason Meadows left Calera to become a country music star and after moving into the finals of the cable television show "Nashville Star," he's one step closer.

Meadows has been singing and picking guitar since he was six years old. This year, Meadows won a top 10 spot on the show (think 'American Idol' meets country music!) . Jason beat out about one thousand other contestants.

Meadows success depends on folks at home voting for him when the show airs on the USA cable network, beginning March 1st.

'Nashville Star' is hosted by North Texas native Leann Rimes. The show will air for 10 weeks before viewers choose the winner.
