Sunday Afternoon and Evening ... Scattered intense thunderstorms are expected, some severe. Large hail, high winds and the potential for isolated tornadoes will be the main threats. Locally heavy is rain also possible with these storms.
12-12-04- A Van Alstyne mobile home went up in flames late Saturday night while the family who lived there was inside. Investigators are still trying to figure out how it started.
The home is located in the 2700 block of Dane Road about five miles east of Van Alstyne.
Van Alstyne, Howe, and Whitewright firefighters responded and put the fire out in less than a half hour.
The family was home at the time of the fire, but there were no serious injuries. Authorities are still investigating the cause.
