2-25-05 - VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican says it'll decide tomorrow about what the pope will do for his Sunday noon blessing.
Pope John Paul is in a Rome hospital, recovering from another breathing crisis.
He was taken there yesterday and underwent a tracheotomy. However, papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls says "there was no need" to put him on a respirator. Italian media had reported the pope was put on a respirator after surgery.
He also says there's no sign of a lung infection, like pneumonia, and the pope is breathing much better now.
This is the pope's second stay in the hospital this month and may force him to miss giving Sunday's blessing, a tradition that's very dear to him.
