Serial Killing Suspect Arrested

2-26-05- The police chief of Wichita, Kansas, says authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the BTK serial killer case. The suspect is linked to ten killings between 1974 and 1986.

At a news conference this morning, Norman Williams said "today is a very historic day." He called the case the most intense in the history of the city's police department.

BTK is the notorious serial killer who has been linked to ten unsolved killings committed between 1974 and 1986.

The killer sent letters to media about the crimes, but stopped in the late 1970s before re-establishing contact last March with a letter about an unsolved 1986 killing.

The initials BTK come from the self-coined nickname of "Bind, Torture, Kill."
