1-7-05 – A burglary suspect led officers from five different agencies on a wild, high-speed chase Friday morning.

Witnesses reported a burglary at the Twin City Liquor Store on Highway 691 and called authorities. Shortly after, a Denison police officer attempted to pull over a truck matching the description of the vehicle used in the burglary.

The driver took off towards Sherman, then headed west on Highway 82 and finally north on Highway 377. Officers say the suspect threw large objects from the vehicle during the chase, ran cars off the road and attempted to ram police cars with his truck.

The pursuit ended less than an hour after it began; at 9:10 a.m. Officers used two sets of spike strips to stop the truck near the intersection of Highway 377 and Highway 32 in Marshall County.

Forty three year old Rocky Lofton of Sherwood Shores was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail. Grayson County officials say they have connected Lofton to two other burglaries, but charges on those crimes are pending.

No one was injured during the pursuit.
