1-13-05 - An Ada man is preparing to leave for some of the countries hardest hit by the tsunami. 54-year-old Ed Poblete will fly to Sumatra and Sri Lanka on Tuesday to help with the relief effort.
He's heading there with two Texans through the Bread for a Hungry World organization. Poblete helped start the organization 14 years ago. They send medical groups and supplies to countries in need.
He started the group after a devastating earthquake in the Philippines – where he also helped with recovery. He hopes to use his experience from that disaster to help the tsunami victims get through this devastating time.
Poblete will also take $12,000 in donations that his church collected for the victims.
