Choctaw Nation Doubles Goal

Video will be available shortly.

1-24-05 – After a week of raising money for tsunami victims, the Choctaw Nation raised approximately $209,000, more than doubling its goal of $100,000. The Nation teamed up with the Durant Public School System to take part in the week-long effort.

The money came from all of last week’s gas profits from fuel sold at all Choctaw Travel Plazas, as well as all of Tuesday Night’s earnings and donations from the Choctaw Gaming Center.

The money will be donated to Save the Children Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund.

Since donations are still coming in, the Nation will extend the fundraising efforts for another week.
