Meth Bust in Sulphur

3-13-05- Authorities in Murray County made a major meth bust Saturday evening. The sheriff's office responded to investigate a citizen complaint of illegal drug activity at a home on West Durant Street in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

When law enforcement officials arrived at the residence, officials detected a chemical odor coming from the residence. Officials made contact with the occupants of the house. The occupants were removed from the residence for safety reasons and the residence was secured until officials obtained a search warrant.

Once the search warrant was obtained, officials conducted a search of the residence finding a working red phospherous methamphetamine lab inside the residence. Officials also found about 4 grams of finished product.

Kenneth Eugene Ellis, age 49, of Sulphur and Terry Lynn Walker, age 48, also of Sulphur were taken into custody and are being held at the Murray County jail.

A 16 year old juvenile male was inside the residence when officals arrived. The juvenile was transported to Arbuckle hospital, and later released to his mother.

Walker is expected to be charged with maunfacturing methamphetamine within 2000 feet of a nursing home, possession of methamphetamine, and child endangerment.

Ellis is expected to be charged with manufacturing methamphetamine within 2000 feet of a nursing home, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, maintaining a place used to sell or manufacturing drugs. Possession of narcotics without affixing proper tax stamp, possession of a precursor substance, and child endangerment.

Assisting the Murray County sheriff's department in the drug investigation were the Sulphur Police department, Sulphur fire Fdepartment, Murray County emergency medical services, and the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse police department
