Signs Point the Way in Emergencies

Video will be available shortly.

1-26-05 – New road signs in Grayson County may mean some residents can breathe easier. The Texas Department of Transportation is installing 1100 signs on all state-maintained highways and farm-to-market roads.

The project is part of a state-wide effort to enhance the 911 system and cut down on response time.

The new signs are located 350 feet from the actual streets, showing first responders the way when seconds count.

Residents who enjoy quiet living in the county, but worry about speedy aid in emergencies, say the signs are a good idea.

The state is paying $235,000 for the project. Fannin County is next in line for new road signs.
