Train Hits Car, Driver Hospitalized

Video will be available shortly.

03-15-05 – A man was thrown 75 feet from his car after colliding with a train in Durant. Authorities say he tried to beat the train across a railroad crossing on 49th street and did not make it. He was taken flown to an Oklahoma City hospital with head trauma.

The train attempted to break about a hundred yards away, but still hit the man’s black Cadillac at 35 miles per hour.

The crossing does not have lights, but the train did sound it’s horn.
