REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Scott Peterson has been sentenced to
death for killing his wife and their unborn child.
Before pronouncing sentence in Redwood City, California, the judge denied a defense request for a new trial. The defense argued that jurors improperly experimented with the boat prosecutors say Peterson used to dump his pregnant wife's body in San Franciscobay.
The jury that convicted Peterson recommended that he die for the
crimes committed more than two years ago.
Peterson was shackled at the waist when he came into court this
morning. Family members from both sides were there as well.
