GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Two criminals charged with identity theft and burglary have been arrested in Grayson County.

Melissa Schulte, 41, from Whitewright, is charged with stealing and receiving stolen checks.

Jeffery Gilbreath, 30, from Rockwall, is charged with three counts of burglary.

Both were arrested at a house in Savoy on Friday after investigators found drug paraphernalia, weapons, checkbooks, and stolen mail.

Investigators say they will be tracking down the owners of the mail and checkbooks to determine if they have been victims of identity fraud or theft.

Sgt. Rickey Wheeler of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office says right now neither suspect faces federal charges.

"There could possibly be more arrests, based on the identity theft part of it. We're looking at more video of different stores, places where checks were cashed. When they come back to the bank, they have a signature, that tells us where they were," Wheeler said.

Investigators say the mail and checkbooks were stolen from at least 15 people. Now they are working to determine if those people have been victims of identity theft or fraud.

Whats so sad about this story is that the victims of the crime are going to be in for a long road getting their credit cleaned up from this.

They should be facing federal charges. How much more evidence do they need to get charges? I say throw the WHOLE book at them.

these two people should be sent to jail for the rest of their lives. i know what its like to try to clean up you credit and life after some low life scum steals your identity. my husbands exwife stole his identity and we are still trying to get him staighten out. this woman had more lasst names that the at&t phone book. we still are still getting bills in her fake names only with my husband ss# think that isn't fun. so i think these people should be sent somewhere where they can never do this again. i hope no one else has to go what we are going thru but when there are people out there like these watch out.
