FBI Searches Nichols' Home

HERINGTON, Kan. (AP) - About a dozen F-B-I bomb experts returned
today to the home in Herington, Kansas, where Oklahoma City bombing
conspirator Terry Nichols lived at the time of the bombing.

F-B-I spokesman Jeff Lanza says agents investigating a report that there are explosives in the house near downtown Herington found something last night and decided to call a bomb squad. Lanza would not say what was found.

Lanza says it's too early to say if there's a connection to Nichols, who hasn't lived in the home for years and is serving life in prison on federal and Oklahoma convictions for the bombing.

Homes near the house were evacuated yesterday and residents still haven't been allowed back in while crews searched the house.

Herington real estate agent Georgia Rucker owns the house and says she was told investigators are looking for explosive materials in a crawl space in the house.
