Friday's storms will have the potential to generate hail in the morning, and hail plus wind and tornadoes later in the day. Flash flooding is also possible with torrential rain in spots. Much improved weather moves in for the weekend. Remember, never drive through floodwater - turn around, don't drown!
4-4-05 - VATICAN CITY (AP) The Vatican says Pope John Paul will be buried in St. Peter's Basilica grotto after his funeral on Friday.
Today's announcement puts an end to speculation that the pope wanted to be buried in his native Poland.
The announcement came after the College of Cardinals met for more than two hours today. This was the group's first meeting since the pope died on Saturday. One Cardinal says the mood was "sad, but hopeful."
Later today the pope's body will be moved to the basilica for public viewing. A Vatican spokesman says the basilica will remain open 21 hours a day, closing only for three hours a night for cleaning, to accommodate the thousands expected to pass by.
Up to two million pilgrims are expected to converge on Rome for the 10 am service. Many world leaders also are expected, including President Bush.
