4-19-05 - When a terrorist' bomb ripped apart the Alfred P Murrah Federal building in April of 1995, some Texomans were the first on the scene. Rick Clayton, an emergency rescuer based out of Ardmore, was transferring a patient just a few blocks from ground zero when the blast happened. He spent the next several hours helping victims.
Current Carter County Under-Sheriff Ken Grace was working with the Oklahoma County department at the time. He recalled hearing the blast from blocks away as he left a store. Both men agree that the entire scene was like a war zone. They, and hundreds of other rescuers will always carry those memories with them.
