4-22-05 - SAN FRANCISCO (AP) A woman who says she found a finger in a bowl of chili from Wendy's has been arrested.
Police in San Jose, California, say she was arrested at her Las Vegas home last night. However, they're not giving any further details about the matter until a news conference scheduled later today.
Anna Ayala told authorities she found the finger in her chili while eating at a Wendy's in San Jose last month.
She had said she intended to sue but later backed away from that assertion.
Wendy's denies that the finger came from anyone connected with the chain. And it says all of its employees at that store have their fingers and no suppliers have reported any hand or finger injuries.
