4-23-05- A Carter County family is homeless after their mobile home went up in flames Saturday morning. Family members say they lost many family mementos in the fire and cannot find their pet cat.
The fire at the home on Gene Autry Road started around 11:00a.m. The homeowner and her 6 year old daughter were watching television when she saw smoke through a window. The woman says her smoke alarms didn't go off because the fire started outside.
Among the items destroyed were more than 9,000 movies collected by the family over many years. Firefighters are still trying to determine the cause of that fire.
