CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- Early voting was underway Friday in Carter County. Residents are getting a chance to cast their ballot for the Super Tuesday elections.

The polls for early voting officially opened at the Carter County Election Board Office on Friday. If residents plan to vote early Friday, registered voters have until 6 p.m. to vote.

The Carter County Election Board Office is the only place in the county where residents can cast their ballot early. County election officials say voter traffic has been rather steady.

We were also told by officials that unlike in years past, they have seen a larger turn out of younger voters (18- 24) registering to vote.

At last check over 60 voters had made their way to the election office to circle the candidate of their choice.

“It hasn’t been real slow not as many as we thought would come out. Monday will probably be our biggest day," Helen McReynolds, with the Carter County Election Board, said.

Early voting continues Saturday at the election office from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The polling location from Precinct 61 has been moved from Plainview Schools to the Bethel Assembly of God Church.
