Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
4-28-05 – First News has learned that a certified nurse’s aid charged with the sexual assault of a patient has prior convictions. 53-year-old Williard Douglas Adkins was convicted in 1984 of burglary and of forgery in 1997.
He's now accused of sexually assaulting a 50-year-old woman 4 times during the between Monday night and Tuesday morning. She was admitted Monday night suffering from diabetic shock - she could not move or speak until Tuesday morning. That's when she told a nurse what happened - but police weren't called in until the afternoon.
Today the hospital would not comment on the delay, but did say Adkins had passed a background check.
