5-2-05 - A Sherman baby fighting for her life received some valuable gifts from Texomans. We told you about Alex Madison Booth on Sunday – born 2.5 weeks ago with a heart defect known as CMV. The disorder attacks the immune system and can cause a loss of sight and hearing.
Alex needs blood donations, but because of her rare O negative blood type, doctors were worried local blood banks would not have enough. Since our story aired Sunday night, blood banks on both sides of the Red River have had dozens of people show up to donate in Alex’s name.
On Monday, her mother asked First News to tell the donors thanks.
