5-6-05 - A Sherman neighborhood is free of an eyesore after city crews demolished a house on Thursday. Neighbors had complained about the two-story home for years, claiming it had become a den for drugs and vermin.
Two months ago the city condemned the home, and gave the owner 60 days to make repairs. The owner failed to respond, so today crews used heavy equipment to tear the house down.
Tearing down houses like this is part of the city's strategic plan of improving Sherman's image.
