5-6-05 – A 19-year-old from Denison, battling a rare lung disease, says she’s thankful for a group of girls trying to raise money for a life-saving surgery.
Terra Yert will need a double lung transplant just a few years after her first surgery. When she was 13, Terra underwent the transplant of one of her lungs, but the procedure did not work. Terra suffers from an illness called bronchiolitis obliterans, a progressive disease that will require a double transplant within two years.
Terra’s former classmates and the Denison Stingerettes heard her story and decided to hold a garage sale benefit Saturday, May 7th at the Denison High School. The sale starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The dancers say they hope to raise $300,000.
