5-7-05- Sherman voters finally approved a pair of propositions that will allow the city to sell beer, wine, and mixed drinks. However, voters defeated the 4B sales tax increase for the fourth time in a row.
For proposition two, which will allow beer and wine sales for off-premises comsumption passed 2422 votes to 1735 votes. Proposition three, which will allow the sale of mixed beverages, passed 2693 to 1461.
For the fourth time in a row, the 4B sales tax failed. The proposed sales tax increase was defeated 2,046 votes to 1,878 votes.
