5-11-05 – Police in Sherman are investigating a deadly accident; they believe the victim crashed his vehicle overnight at Highway 82 and Scaggs Road. His body was not discovered until this morning.
A passerby noticed a vehicle, in a ditch, and called police around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The 25-year-old victim was ejected from his vehicle. Authorities have not determined exactly when the man died.
Sherman police first believed the driver was the only person involved in the accident, but later discovered a passenger was in the car.
The passenger came back to the scene around 8:30 a.m. and told officers he was in the car when it went off the road.
Officers are investigating why the man did not seek emergency help.
Authorities say alcohol may have played a role in causing the accident.
West-bound traffic on Highway 82, near SPUR 14-17 was shut down as police investigated.
