5-11-05 - The US Army Corps of Engineers is telling 140 people in the Lake Texoma area that they're encroaching on government land.
The Corps is telling residents in the Cardinal Cove area near Madill to move their property off the federal land, including satellite dishes, storage buildings, propane tanks, a flag pole and a chain-link fence.
One owner, Jerry Rowe, says it's a "dirty shame" and says a private surveyor apparently made the mistake in 1957.
Lake manager Ron Jordan says the government's property line runs
through parts of three houses. He says in those instances the Corps
will sell the property, plus about ten feet, to the landowner.
