A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
5-26-05 - Two Ardmore police officers are being hailed as heroes after helping revive a 22-month-old toddler Wednesday night.
Keith Ingle and Lonn Hayes responded to the call on "A" St Southeast, where a pool party was finishing up. The young boy had climbed into the aboveground pool while his mother took older children inside.
The officers arrived to find a family huddled around the soaked child in their living room. A former firefighter, officer Ingle used CPR to breathe for the boy until EMS could get there.
Experts say to never take your eyes off kids when they’re around water. In as few as 10 seconds, a child can be overcome in the water.
