Gainesville bank robbery suspect caught in Marietta

GAINESVILLE, TX - A man who police believe robbed a Gainesville bank Wednesday afternoon was caught and arrested a short time later in Love County, Oklahoma, on Interstate 35 by sheriff's deputies.
Love County authorities say Lynn McMorris, Jr. has been booked into the Love County Jail.

The Gainesville Police Department says they got the call at approximately 1 p.m. that a man had just robbed the American Bank of Texas on East Broadway.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and demanded money.

No one was injured in the robbery and no weapons were involved.

A short time later, Love County Sheriff Deputy, Harvey Stewart, spotted the getaway vehicle, a stolen Kia Spectra, on Interstate 35 just outside Marietta.

They arrested Lynn McMorris Jr. and took him to the Love County Jail.

They say McMorris is also wanted in Oklahoma County for another bank robbery.

Love County Sheriff, Joe Russell, says McMorris got away with nearly $4,000.

Gainesville Police say the F.B.I. is investigating the robbery in conjunction with the Gainesville Police Department.
