Violent assault in Thackerville

LOVE COUNTY, OK--Authorities in Love County are still trying to find out what led to the violent assault of two men in Thackerville.

Love County Sheriff's investigators say around 9 last night they got a call from a man at a Thackerville corner store. He claimed he was choked and hit on the head several times with a baseball bat. When he told deputies where it happened, they found another man at the residence who had been stabbed.

Both men were taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities do not know if the altercation happened between the two men or if a third party was involved. Right now no suspects have been named and no charges have been filed. They say it is still under investigation.
