Mother & son arrested in Ardmore rape/kidnapping case

ARDMORE, OK - Ardmore police said they arrested a mother and son Wednesday in connection with a rape/kidnapping case.

Patrick Slawson and Sonya Slawson were arraigned Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for a violent kidnapping that allegedly took place Wednesday.

Patrick was charged with first degree rape, assault and battery and kidnapping.

Sonya is charged with obstructing an officer and kidnapping.

Ardmore police declined to go on camera but said in a press release that Patrick and Sonya Slawson picked up a woman and took her against her will to a home on 3rd St. NE.

While at the residence, Patrick allegedly raped the victim.

Police did not confirm which block of 3 St. NE the crime occurred on,
however online records show Sonya Slawson lives on the 900 block of that street.

The victim in this case was treated and released from an Ardmore hospital.

Both mother and son are being held in the Carter County Detention Center.

Patrick has a bond of $300,000 and Sonya's bail is set at $100,000.

They are both due back in court Sept 11.
