6-23-05 - Three Gainesville churches have been burglarized in four days and police believe all of them are likely connected. Thieves have caused thousands of dollars in damages to the First Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church and the House of Prayer Assembly of God. But in the end, they only made off with several hundred dollars.
The culprits broke into the First Baptist Church Wednesday night, using a tool to break into an outside door. They ended up breaking into ten other classroom and office doors. Thursday morning, $600 was missing – money collected the night before for a family in need.
Late Sunday night, police suspect the same criminals hit the Temple Baptist Church and House of Prayer Assembly of God. In both cases, police found outside doors unlocked.
