6-23-05 – Operating since 1984, the Red River Bit Company in Howe may be forced to shut down due to a zoning controversy. The city council voted down a proposal for a zoning change that would have kept the company open.
The company CEO Terry Tucker says he is not sure why the issue was raised after years of operation. But the city has ordered them to stop manufacturing horse bits or be fined $2000 dollars a day. Tucker is not sure what the future of the company will hold.
The company is located in a residential area off FM 902 and sends horse bits all over the world.
