Prices Up For Bryan Co. 911

06-28-05 – Bryan County towns will have to fork out more money for their 911 service system. Fees are being raised for the dispatch system that is the only one of its kind in Oklahoma and has been used since 2001.

Officials say that the system needs more financial support to continue operating and each city’s fees will be determined by the amount of usage. The more calls that are dispatched to each town, the more they will pay.

At a public hearing last night in Colbert, Mayor Dick Rarick said the system is worth the money spent since it cuts response time down and helps smaller towns that may otherwise be without service.
