Roads will remain treacherous from snow and sleet until mid-day, when sunshine should melt most of it away. Snow is likely to remain on the ground until Friday.
6-29-05 – The effects of the summer heat can be seen on the highways. Pieces of burnt out rubber sits along most major roads due to tire blowouts caused by the intense heat. The Texas Department of Transportation says the summer months always bring more blowouts.
It is suggested drivers check the air pressure in their tires before hitting the road and also make sure their tires have plenty of tread.
TexDOT also asks to be on the lookout for any debris on the roadway.
