8-7-05 - Discovery heads for home soon and it will bypass most of the United States tomorrow on landing day. The shuttle will fly over Nicaragua and Cuba on its Florida approach. This path change results from the Columbia disaster that sent wreckage across Texas and Louisiana.
Astronauts have spent the day completing flight control checks and practicing landing on a computer simulator. And Commander Eileen Collins says "It's time to come home and keep working on getting the shuttle better and ready to fly in the future again."
