7-13-05 - Pontotoc County authorities arrested a 59-year-old Ada grandmother on charges of dealing the prescription drug Oxycontin out of her home. Agents raided the home of Doane Mae Balthrop on Tuesday.
During the raid at the rural home on the northwest side of the city, deputies also found marijuana. They believe she sold Oxycontin to a 23-year-old who overdosed over the weekend.
Balthrop faces charges of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and maintaining a drug house. She appeared in Pontotoc County District Court Wednesday before Judge J.D. Miller. Her bond was set at $25,000 and she was ordered to reappear in court on July 15 at 1pm.
