Roads will remain treacherous from snow and sleet until mid-day, when sunshine should melt most of it away. Snow is likely to remain on the ground until Friday.
8-27-05 - CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - About 15-hundred people supporting President Bush and the war in Iraq rallied in Crawford, Texas, this afternoon.
Most were from a cross-country tour called "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" that began last week in northern California.
Several miles away, busloads of anti-war protesters gathered for a rally of their own. Cindy Sheehan, who triggered the anti-war demonstration three weeks ago, says she knows their movement "is going to end the war in Iraq."
At the pro-war gathering, a former California assemblyman whose group coordinated their rally told the crowd that the anti-war protesters "are giving hope and encouragement to the enemies of America."
Sheehan plans to end her protest in Crawford on Wednesday. She says some of those who support her will spread their message on a tour.
