7-17-05 - A Sherman church is reaching out to what they call a 'forgotten culture' in some people who may not be your typical church goers. The Joshua Crossing church says they are more about faith than fashion.
Pastor Lance Price says some members are traditional Christians and then some are from a new-age culture. He says that although the dress code is less than traditional, the church's message is the same.
Baseball caps and tattoos are allowed and some members even take their shoes off during the unique service. Members of the church-- now more than 200 strong-- say it feels good to be a part of a church that focuses on teachings and not how a person looks.
The congregation meets every Sunday in the Dillingham school cafeteria in Sherman until they can purchase a building.
