Three Killed in House Fire

9-24-05 - Three Ladonia men were killed in a house fire in Fannin County around 4:00 a.m. Saturday. One woman was able to make it out of the home alive, but she was not able to wake those sleeping inside.

Teresa Bellows woke up when she heard someone yelling "fire!" She tried to wake up her fiance, his brother, and a friend before running out of the house to call 911, but she was unsuccessful. Firefighters say Bellows even tried to fight the flames herself with a water hose.

Fire crews arrived at the home on F.M. 1752 near Savoy just before 4:00 a.m. The report flames were coming from the living room.

Jimmy Wayne Doyle, his brother Dennis Lane Doyle, and friend Thomas Eugene Holman, Jr, all of Ladonia, were killed in the fire. First responders were able to pull them from the home, but were unable to revive them.

The fire marshall will be on the scene Monday, trying to determine what caused the fire.

Neighbors say Bellows and Doyle only became engaged a few days ago.
