LAKE TEXOMA, Tex. -- The Texoma Lakefest Regatta is now underway. Racers had some beautiful weather to set sail on Friday. About fifty boats and their crews took part in several races on Friday.

While registration for the actual races is closed, organizers invite everyone to come out and watch this weekend. All proceeds from the regatta go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

"Personally, it makes me feel like, somewhat rewarded. I mean we get out here and we have fun and you know, we got a little bit of competition going, but you know it does make you feel good that even though you're having fun and whatever, you're contributing to a good cause," organizer Tim Wylie says.

There will also be a public party tomorrow night at 7:30. The $15 cover charge will get you in to see an Elvis tribute band as well as refreshments.
