SOSU QB suspended after marijuana charges

DURANT, OK -- Southeastern quarterback Justin Pitrucha has been dismissed from the football team following an arrest and marijuana charges.

Pitrucha was arrested on Sunday night for marijuana possession and intent to distrubue within 2000 feet of the Southeastern campus. Head Football Coach Ray Richards suspended his quarterback, leaving the door open for a possible return.

“It would be inappropriate for me to address the specifics of this matter at the present time,’’ Richards said. “However, his status may be re-evaluated at a later date.’’

Pitrucha was one of six people arrested with possession charges, and one of two with intent to distribute.

Pitrucha shined as the starting quarterback two years ago, leading the Storm to a 6-4 record. But the team slipped to 4-6 last year, when Pitrucha was forced to sit out the season due to academic reasons.
