10-20-05 - A rear-end collision on Highway 48 between Durant and Kenefic in Bryan County this morning leaves one woman dead.
It happened around 9 a.m. when a red truck heading south rear-ended a car carrying two senior citizens. The vehicles spun out and ended up on opposite sides of the road.
The car struck and knocked down an electric pole, and the passenger, Eva Jaggers, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene while her husband was life-flighted to a Dallas hospital.
The driver of the truck was Jody Bush, 20, and he was taken to a hospital in Durant. Troopers say Bush was taking prescription medication, but they are not sure if it affected his driving.
The accident backed up traffic in both directions for close to two hours.
