JOHNSTON COUNTY, Okla. -- A Johnston County man is stabbed eight times and lives to tell about it. Robin Beal has the details.
It would appear at this stage that Bradley Black, 32, was just trying to be a good Samaritan, trying to break up a fight, sticking up for the little guy. Investigators say instead that little guy ended up sticking him in the back with a pocketknife.
When it was all said and done, 5'8," 140-pound Wesley Minor, 22, was taken away to the county jail in handcuffs facing serious charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities say it happened early Saturday morning around 3 a.m. They say Minor had been drinking at an establishment in Millburn known as 'Jeraoke's'. When the bar closed, investigators believe he hitched a ride back to Tishomingo with the victim and some other people.
Investigators think an argument broke out during that short ride, between Minor and another, much larger man. When the party arrived back in Tishomingo, it turned violent. Witnesses told the police it spilled over when the car stopped at the South Byrd Apartments, and when Black tried to stick up for the guy he had just given a ride to, he was stabbed in the back and neck eight times, with a 3-to-4 inch blade.
Black did suffer a punctured lung and had to be treated at an Ardmore hospital, but amazingly, he has already been released and was well enough to talk to the police Tuesday.
