DENISON, Tex. -- Denison has a lot of changes on the way, including a new hotel and convention center. The city’s Planning & Zoning Commission approved site plans Tuesday for the facilities at Gateway West, at the northwest corner of FM 691 and Highway 75.

Planning and zoning director Faye Brockett says this is an exciting time for the city.

"The convention center is going to draw in from all over the area to hold conventions in the area, and it'll help our retail growth and development there," Brockett says.

The hotel and convention center should be completed in early 2010.
