H.O.G. Rally Descends on Ardmore

10-7-05 - Owners of Harley Davidson motorcycles are coming from all parts of Oklahoma and North Texas to attend the annual state Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Rally in Ardmore this weekend.

It's the first time the event has been in Ardmore, and the city expects to reap a windfall in tourism dollars over the next three days.

Pre-registration started around three and will go for another hour. And with Ardmore hotels already booked up, the city is expecting to get a big economic boost this weekend.

Some of the Harley owner group members rolled up earlier this afternoon. But before they got here, vendors were setting up this morning, many from the Ardmore area hoping to bring in the big bucks.

1500 to 2000 people are supposed to show up for the event and bring in around $700,000 to Ardmore the next three days.

This is the first time for the Harley owner's group to hold the state event in Ardmore. They like it here so much, they've already reserved the convention center again for next year.

Tomorrow, bikers will head out on a poker run to area casinos, and then on Saturday they will get to showcase their bikes in a parade on Veterans Boulevard and Commerce.
