11-6-05 – Bryan county commissioners will consider closing three roads in the southeastern part of the county Monday. Some living near the affected roads have signed a petition, asking commissioners to keep the roads open.
Marty Smith collected 32 signatures and says Brown Creek Road, Smith Road, and Hackberry Road are historic and should not be closed down.
The roads are all located off Highway 78 – near Yuba, Oklahoma.
At the last Bryan County Commissioners meeting, a separate petition was presented in favor of closing the roads. Some business owners say they want to reduce traffic in the area – which could protect land and cattle in the area.
The commissioners are meeting Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Bryan County Courthouse.
