Yes, the man endangered lives and he deserves to be arrested for breaking the law, BUT don't say he is wasting tax dollars by driving a city vehicle. He is most likely on call 24/7 and thus keeps the city vehicle at his home. It is either that or making citizens wait even longer for a city worker to get to an issue such as a water main break, etc. Think before you type, people.

Kudos to the Van Alstyne Police Department for not letting small town politics play a part in their decision to arrest this man. The article in the Herald Democrat said the arrest happened late at night or early in the morning, which means he was using a city vehicle for personal use - using taxpayers money to pay for gas while he was out partying. He broke the law and put others in harms way while doing it. Good riddance, I say!

Good job VA Police Department! I am so glad he was taken off the roads before someone like my children were hurt. I hope he gets help for his problem and is able to work without alcohol. We shouldn't judge this man. Alcoholism is a serious problem and nothing to "laugh at" as the previous comment reads.
