11-11-05 - A Sherman postal worker was mauled while delivering mail Thursday on Andrews Street. The man suffered severe injuries to both his hands and is still undergoing surgery today.

Police say two dogs broke through a front door screen and attacked David Whitfield as he approached the home. The dogs, a pit bull and a boxer are being held at Sherman Animal Control.

The attack happened on the same day that an Atoka boy was mauled by a Pit Bull. He suffered a broken leg and never damage and was flown to a Tulsa hospital, where he is in Intensive Care.
