Perry Announces New Jobs in North Texas

11-16-05 - Mobile phone service provider T-Mobile will create 850 new jobs in North Texas when it opens a new operations center next year, Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday.

More than 350 employees from nearby T-Mobile offices are also expected to be relocated to the T-Mobile Technology Campus, scheduled to open by the summer.

Perry said the deal was secured with the help of $2.1 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund, which is used to provide financial incentives to lure jobs to Texas.

The facility will include engineers and support staff specializing in T-Mobile's wireless operations, said Joe Sims, T-Mobile vice president and general manager.
