PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- Two people were killed late Monday on the Chickasaw Turnpike in Pontotoc County.
According to the Oklahoman, 33-year-old Marsha Haines was pronounced dead at the scene after her vehicle struck 25-year-old Quentin Fields car.
Fields was airlifted to OU Medical Center and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A female passenger in his car was also taken by helicopter to the same hospital in serious condition.
Both north and southbound lanes were closed until 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The cause of the accidents is still under investigation.
